AKU has always been dedicated to constant research on plantar anatomy
and the natural movement of the foot. Every footwear collection has been
developed while keeping in mind the specific needs regarding shape and
fit, which vary from model to model and according to the product’s end use.
The Elica Natural Stride System
AKU has created the Elica Natural Stride System to favor the natural movement of the foot, allowing for a natural step and push off, in order to offer optimal walking comfort.
This system adapts the heel strike by adapting the insole board to incline outwards to provide support. In the external heel area the shock absorber is thicker for optimum impact absorption. An asymmetric tread design, aligned with the axis of stance and elongated lugs, increase the contact surface area.
On the forward portion of your foot, the Elica system adjusts toe-off by inclining the insole board. The internal front part of the midsole consists of shock absorbing
material. The lugs on the tread, located on the inner part of the shoe, protrude
outwards to increase the contact surface area.
